Similar to CSI games, NCIS is also based on a detective TV series, but instead of putting the player in the role of a rookie investigator, you can control all the main characters of the series themselves. The gameplay is a mix of exploration and forensics. While the exploration and search for evidence is done from a 3rd person perspective, all forensic mini-games are inspired by the techniques used in CSI games.
The story is told through four episodes that use the same video effects and type of humor seen in the TV series. What seems to have started as a simple bank robbery escalates into a dangerous terrorist plot and a nuclear threat.
