This portable version of its console cousins differs in graphics and gameplay. Although it features the full NBA license, including team names and logos, it does not feature real player names, but rather authentic numbers. There are also only two default colors for teams (black and white) and features a limited set of offensive and defensive plays that can be selected.
It has an Exhibition, Season and Playoff mode, but in the playoffs, the player is automatically assigned a team and cannot choose his own. Players can also offer three difficulty modes and the ability to change gameplay options such as game time limits and rule customization.
