NBA Jam 2000 is an officially licensed NBA basketball game. Along with updated teams and graphics, the main addition to its predecessor is the new action-oriented Jam mode. It gets rid of all the rules and has two-on-two matches. After three consecutive strikes, the ball is ignited and can be used to perform special moves.
The simulation mode is essentially the same as before and allows playing an entire season (optionally with basic management options that focus on swapping athletes), custom season, play-offs, shootouts on goal or exhibition matches. Other options are a basic editor to create a new athlete and a new workout. During matches, the player directly controls the athletes.
