The first game of the new millennium to be officially licensed by Group Lotus Plc. A British company famous for its notable appearances in previous games, including James Bond: The Spy Who Loved Me with Roger Moore and Lotus: The Ultimate Challenge.
Includes 42 cars spanning the company's history, covering: the Formula 1 era (1962 Type 25, 1978 Type 79T to 2001 Formula Lotus), the classic era (1957 Seven S1 to 1986 Excel SE) to modern sports cars (1964 competition Elan, 1980 E-spirit S2 to the new Elise), and two concept cars designed by Lotus engineers. Each virtual Formula 1 car is based on the real achievements of the Lotus team, and other models have been thoroughly tested by real Lotus test drivers. A brief history of the company is also provided in the game.
'Challenge' mode starts at the 'Lotus Test Track', beat the fastest lap time to qualify, then select a character from the fictional Lotus Challenge team in a story-driven contest, a mix of World Series Championship race circuits, stunts, and head-to-head racing. Each completed segment is 'unlocked'. 'Collection' mode gives players access to every 'unlocked' car and track. 'Championship' mode involves seven different championship classes, from Classic to Super cars, only two of which can be used, the others needing to be 'unlocked' to play. 'Single' mode allows you to play a quick game of up to 15 laps of any 'unlocked' event, challenge, stunt, and race.
