Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (commonly abbreviated MGS2) is an action-stealth video game produced and directed by Hideo Kojima. The game was developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan and published by Konami in November 2001 for the PlayStation 2.

Sons of Liberty was a critical and commercial success, selling over 7 million copies worldwide. An expanded version of the game, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, was released in Japan in 2002.
