At E3 2017, Bethesda announced the release of Doom VFR, a virtual reality adaptation of Doom, compatible with PlayStation VR and HTC Vive headsets. In Doom VFR, the player takes on the role of the last survivor of Mars who, after being killed, has his consciousness uploaded into an artificial network, and is tasked with eliminating demons and restoring the functioning of the facilities. The player has an array of electronic devices and weapons at his disposal. The game was released on December 1, 2017.
