Nonograms are numerical puzzles where logic is used to find the solution. Hints are provided along the sides of the playing field grid, telling the player how many squares to fill in each row and column. With logic, the player can determine exactly which grid squares to fill. The thinking process is similar to solving Sudoku puzzles.
Mario's Picross (from PICture CROSSword) is Nintendo's version of Nonograms. In this game, Mario assumes the role of an archaeologist who chisels the squares of each playing field. The result is a small image. There are 256 different puzzles to solve, divided into four courses with increasing level of difficulty.
