Magical Tetris Challenge is a Tetris game that combines the classic puzzle game with Disney license, and features two original competitive Tetris variants: Magical Tetris and Updown Tetris.
Both follow the standard Tetris pattern: Tetris pieces fall onto the playing field from above and must be arranged to form horizontal lines which are then removed, with the player whose stack of pieces reaches the top losing out. first.
In Magical Tetris, clearing two or more lines at the same time sends a magic attack to the opponent, who places a non-standard magic piece in their queue. Magic Pieces consist of more than four blocks and are therefore more difficult to place, but can theoretically clear more rows at once. Magic attacks can be countered by clearing lines while the piece is in the queue. This returns the piece to the opponent, turning it into a 2x2 square piece. Countered pieces can again be countered, increasing in size with each counter up to a maximum of 5x5. Overflowing to an already full queue turns existing parts into those marked with an exclamation mark. These cannot be countered and are massive in size and come in the form of pyramids or diamonds. A clock counts time during Magical Tetris - each minute of play time increases the level of play, up to a maximum of 4, with higher levels resulting in more magic coins being added to the opponent's queue per erased line.
