The opening sees your character, Joey Verola, talking to someone else about money, lots of money. He (Joey) then continues to tell his story, after which the first level begins: he begins his life of crime in North Carolina, where a delivery goes wrong.
The game is played in third person, much like Max Payne, with character movement controlled by the W, A, S, and D keys. The mouse is used for aiming and shooting, as well as limited camera movement. You can take cover behind objects by pressing the spacebar. This forces Joey to press his back against said object (i.e. wall, trash can, etc.) and you can then shoot from behind. Additionally, a slow mode, called "kill rush", is available, but only after filling a "kill meter".
