Karate Champ is a 1984 head-to-head combat and arcade video game released by Technos Japan for Data East. He is credited with introducing and popularizing the one-on-one fighting game genre as well as influencing a whole line of fighting games, such as Konami's Yie Ar Kung-Fu.
