Infected is a fast-paced, comedic third-person zombie shooter. The game focuses on a humorous storyline and combo-based zombie killing.
It's Christmas in New York City, and zombies have come to ruin the festivities. As NYPD Officer Stevens, you discover that not only are you immune to the zombie virus, but your blood is actually so potent it will make a zombie explode.
The main objective of the game is to poke holes in zombies until they are weak enough for you to throw a vial of your own blood at them, causing an explosion. Weaken enough zombies, throw a vial of blood into one, and watch the chain reaction as exploding zombies send your anti-zombie blood blasting other zombies.
The game was one of the first online PSP games and featured a mode in which defeating an opponent would transmit your virus to them and force their online avatar to resemble yours. If they defeated someone in turn, your virus would also be transmitted to them. At any time, you could check a world map to see where your virus strain had traveled.
