Ice Climber is a vertical-platform video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985. In Ice Climber, the characters Popo and Nana, (also known as Pepe and Nana in the German version), collectively called Ice Climbers, venture into 32 ice-covered mountains to retrieve stolen vegetables from a giant condor. In some European countries, the NES console was sold with the game, increasing Ice Climber's familiarity outside of Japan.
