In Scholastic's second I Spy DS game, players will take to the stars to find hidden objects in six different areas with two search areas each.

The sun has gone out, but there are special objects scattered around the universe that can build a generator to bring it back to life. Travel to different colorful areas for a hidden object game where rhymes tell you what you need to find, and to fuel up to travel to new ones, play short mini-games to unlock new areas with their own I Spy puzzles. Items tend to be hidden in cluttered environments, the player sometimes asked to find multiple instances of an item, the largest version of one, or to think smarter about what the terms of the reading puzzle which starts at each level could mean.

Touchscreen minigames involve things like matching objects to their shadows, ordering objects based on similarities, or rearranging a maze of pipes to let a marble roll through. All hidden object screens and minigames repeat throughout the game, just with new items to find or changes to the minigame design to increase the difficulty of the game.
