HADES (PLAYSTATION 4 PS4)

Hades is a dungeon crawler game where you challenge the god of death as you fight your way out of the underworld of Greek myth.

The player takes on the role of Zagreus, the prince of the underworld, who tries to escape from the kingdom to get away from his impartial father, Hades, and reach Mount Olympus. His quest is supported by the other Olympians, who grant him gifts to help him fight the beings that guard the exit from the Underworld.

The game is presented in an isometric view with the player in control of Zagreus. The player starts a course of the game by trying to make their way through a number of rooms; the arrangement of the rooms is predetermined, but their order and the enemies that appear are determined at random. The player has a main weapon, a special attack and a magic spell which he can use to eliminate enemies. Sometimes when clearing a room, one of the Olympians will give a gift, a choice of three persistent boosts for that run for the player to choose from; the presents have an Olympian-based theme, for example with Zeus providing lightning damage effects. The player also collects in-game currency and possibly keys. If Zagreus' hit points drop to zero, he "dies" and comes face to face with his father, removing all gifts granted in the last round. In this area, before embarking on a new quest, the player can use the currency to unlock permanent upgrades for Zagreus, or the keys to unlock different weapons.
