Godzilla 2: War of the Monsters is a video game for Nintendo Entertainment System.
The player controls military forces trying to stop Godzilla and other giant monsters from destroying cities. Mothra, Hedorah and Baragon along with King Ghidorah are added to the lineup and are joined by Rodan. This game, released in place of a previously announced game intended to feature Rodan, was poorly received by audiences, partly due to a lack of authentic plot and the fact that the game had a style of extremely arbitrary combat, which was difficult for many players to understand. It was the third Godzilla game for a Nintendo console to be released in North America, following Godzilla: Monster of Monsters for the Nintendo Entertainment System and Godzilla for the Nintendo Game Boy.
It will be followed by Super Godzilla for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993.
