GHOSTHUNTER (PLAYSTATION 2 PS2)

What started as a simple report of strange lights in an abandoned school turned into something much more for rookie cop Lazarus Jones. After unwittingly releasing hundreds of ghosts from a containment facility, including one that took a liking to Lazarus' partner, it's now up to him to travel to the far corners of the earth and capture them. It's gonna be a long night.

Lazarus starts the game with a gun, but bullets aren't very useful against the incorporeal. Eventually, he'll find energy weapons that can drain a ghost's energy, and when a ghost has been weakened enough, they can be captured with Lazarus' "Ghost Grenade". However, not all monsters Lazarus faces are undead, and tougher enemies can be dispatched the traditional way: by shooting them until they stop moving. Levels are traversed sequentially and range from flooded bayous to a sunken battleship and an abandoned prison island. Sometimes Lazarus will be assisted by a mute ghost named Astral who can reach areas beyond Lazarus and open paths for him. However, she must be careful because she has no way to attack or defend herself.
