Starring heavyweight champion George Foreman, this is a boxing simulation where players, playing as Foreman, go through a series of twelve rounds against different boxers to win the championship title belt.
Played from a third-person perspective using a right-side view over the boxer's shoulders, players can move left and right to dodge incoming punches, block, and throw left and right punches . The standard punch is a cross, but by holding down the Up key, jabs can also be thrown.
By dodging the blows and hitting them, a super punch often becomes available, dealing much more damage. A fight consists of a maximum of three rounds of three minutes each. When a boxer is knocked down four times, the match is over (technical knockout). The same thing happens when a boxer falls to the ground three times in a single round (normal KO). While on the ground, players must quickly press both kick buttons to get back to their feet. The screen shows a drained energy meter when punches are received. After being knocked out and during intermissions, some energy is returned.
All versions except the Game Boy can be played with two players. A password system is used to save progress.
