Gears of War 4 is a third-person shooter developed by The Coalition and published by Microsoft Studios, released on October 11, 2016 on Xbox One and Microsoft Windows1. It is the fifth installment in the Gears of War franchise.

The game is set 25 years after Gears of War 3. The player will play as James Dominic "JD" Fenix, . He will be accompanied by Delmont "Del" Walker and Kait Diaz. The story begins 6 months after James & Del desert COG, when they are about to attack a COG building town (manned by robots) with the help of Kait and her uncle Oscar. .
