Final Fantasy III (Fainaru Fantajī Surī?) is a role-playing video game, developed by Square Co., Ltd., released for the Famicom in 1990 in Japan.
A fully 3D remake of the game, developed by Matrix Software and published by Square Enix, released for Nintendo DS on August 24, 2006 in Japan, November 14 of the same year in North America, and May 3, 2007 in Europe. This version offers a new soundtrack, a progressive integration of the characters with a different scenario for each one and a multiplayer game mode via messages to send (in local network and Internet).
The remake of the game has also been adapted for the PSP (based on the DS version); it was released on September 26, 2012, on the European PlayStation Store. Similarly, a port for iOS was released on March 24, 2011, and a port for Android on March 12, 2012, as well as a special version for Ouya in April 2013. The Windows version was released on May 27, 2014.
