FIFA SOCCER 95 (SEGA GENESIS SG)

After the first game proved to be a global hit, EA developed this sequel exclusively for Sega's 16-bit console. The biggest change from FIFA International Soccer is obviously the dozens of club teams from England, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, USA, Spain and Brazil , bringing the number of teams to over 200. It also increased the number of competitions, with each country having its own league, tournament and playoffs. Another novelty, a backup battery made it possible to save up to four competitions in the cartridge, replacing passwords. For those who want to settle things quickly, a Penalty Shootout practice mode has been added.

While graphically the game received only minor tweaks from the isometric sprite engine, the gameplay features new moves such as more detailed (now more effective) volley kicks and headers, as well as more responsive general controls making it easier to pass, and goalkeepers are now smarter when chasing balls. Set pieces have also been given a new format, and instead of just kicking the ball, the player can choose to play a preset set piece.
