Fallout 3 is an action role-playing video game developed and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the third installment in the main Fallout series. Released nearly ten years after Fallout 2, it marks the takeover of the franchise by a new studio, following the bankruptcy of Interplay and the dissolution of Black Isle Studios. This results in two major changes: the game moves from a top-down isometric 3D to a true first-person 3D, thanks to the Oblivion engine, and moves closer to the design of Bethesda games, more action-oriented, exploration-oriented, and with less complex quests.
