ExerBeat is a rhythm-based fitness game in which the player must replicate the movements of the in-game instructors. There are a total of 155 exercises, covering 8 categories: Aerobics, Hip Hop, Latin Dance, Boxercising, Karate, Forms of Karate, Yoga/Pilates and Stretching.
During the exercises, the arrows that appear on the screen represent the training movements to be performed. The player's accuracy in reproducing moves is rated as OK, Close, or Miss, with rhythm points only awarded for the former. At the end of an exercise, the results screen will list the pace points, longest combo, success rate, ranking, and potentially award a bronze, silver, or gold medal.
