Josh Calloway is an employee of Wisdom Incorporated, well-known for his work in gene therapy, genome-based medicines, cloning technology, and genetically modifying food. He undergoes tests daily, hoping to use his enhanced abilities for the greater good of science and technology.

Little does he know that Wisdom is actually developing LEGACY, a powerful short-range weapon, in hopes of using it to gain military power. Once Josh finally discovers the truth about his newfound power, he attempts a daring escape from the base with his girlfriend and colleague Eliel Evergrand. They never make it.
