Josh Calloway is an employee of Wisdom Incorporated, well known for his work in gene therapy, genome-based drugs, cloning technology, and genetic modification of foods. It is being tested day after day, hoping to use its increased abilities for the great of science and technology.
He is unaware that Wisdom is actually developing LEGACY, a short-range weapon of great power, hoping to use it to gain military might. Once Josh finally discovers the truth about his newfound power, he attempts a daring escape from the base with his girlfriend and co-worker Eliel Evergrand. They never got there.
Now Eliel's soul has been placed inside a new LEGACY weapon, the EOE, and Josh holds it inside his modified arm. Only he can put an end to Wisdom's plans, and only he can save Eliel and return her to human form.
Eve of Extinction is a beat 'em up 3D action title, combining on-screen control elements during gameplay (like in Dynamic Cop) to point you in the right direction and help you out of danger. Thanks to the weapon switching technology, you can switch weapons during an attack to increase the attack power of enemies. When bosses are defeated, new weapons are awarded, including a crossbow and an axe. These can be upgraded using the Ley Seeds found throughout the game.
