Disney Sports Soccer is the first game in the Konami/Disney collaboration series that puts Disney characters in sports simulations. The Soccer entry is based on Konami's Winning Eleven/ISS series, offering an equally complex cross-sport simulation with more arcade-like features.

The game features eight different teams, each led by characters like Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. Three game modes are included: exhibition games (up to four players), Dream Cup and Challenge Cup. The Dream Cup is a knockout tournament, while the Challenge Cup requires players to play against all the other teams in the game in succession.
