Defender ATARI 400

Defender put players in charge of a ship sent to protect humanity from waves and waves of attacking alien forces.

Armed with smart bombs and capable of using hyperspace to quickly move around the planet, the player's ship must fight against Bombers, Pods, Swarmers, Baiters, and Landers—all of which can capture humanoids and transform them into deadly, relentless mutants. Fail to save the humanoids from freefall or mutant transformation, and the planet is destroyed.
