Mexican gunman El Tejon has joined the fearsome Nine gang, hoping to become rich and famous. However, as he grew disillusioned with the gang's murderous ways and grew distant from them, he became a liability for the criminals. The gang leader shot him and left him for dead; narrowly surviving, El Tejon is imprisoned by the authorities. In the prison, he meets a member of a revolutionary movement and becomes determined to regain his freedom and take revenge on those who betrayed him.
Dead Man's Hand is a 3D first-person shooter set in the Wild West. The protagonist is armed with a fairly standard arsenal, which includes pistols, rifles, shotguns, TNT, bombs, and more. The game rewards the player for accurate shooting and creative ways to kill enemies (such as shooting a rock that falls on them): as the player practices these activities, the "trick counter" of the protagonist is gradually filled. A full meter allows for a secondary fire mode, unique for each weapon. Between levels, the player can compete in poker to increase the protagonist's health and ammo.
