Damnation is a third-person shooter set in a steampunk universe where the player takes control of Rourke, fights hordes and hordes of enemies, jumps from roof to roof and performs other climbing exercises in order to accomplish his goals like freeing a prisoner or shutting down a factory. At his side the Indian healer Yakecan and the cowboy Ramon Sepherius Zagato. Of course, enemies don't drop dead at the sight of Rourke and his friends. Instead, everyone can carry three weapons. Two big ones like a shotgun, grenade launcher or sniper rifle and a pistol which also includes equipment like the railroad spike gun. Additionally, players have access to mines that can be thrown or planted but still need to be manually triggered. Since the levels are huge and traveling on foot is sometimes not feasible or possible, steampunk bikes are ready for players to use in two different designs. The small version carries two people, one being the driver and the second standing in the back, pulling everything in sight. The second version allows two gunners in the rear.
