When Ebeneezer von Clutch, the owner of the famous MotorWorld amusement park, is stolen the Black Power gem that maintains his life force, he tasks Crash and his friends (and enemies) with retrieving the gem and catching the culprit.
Similar to previous racing games in the Crash Bandicoot series, players can choose from a variety of characters from the series, including notable allies and foes, as well as several notable new characters. Additionally, Crash Tag Team Racing introduces the ability to "collide" with another racer, allowing the two to create a hybrid vehicle to cooperatively destroy their opponents.
