COWBOY KID (NINTENDO NES)

Villatown was besieged by a local gang known as the Scorpions. A rumor began to spread that the gang was going to commit a train robbery, so the town sheriff came out to investigate and never heard from him again. Seeking revenge, the sheriff's son named Sam went out to fight the Scorpions, but was ambushed by some gang members and nearly killed. Sam was fortunately saved by an Indian warrior named Little Chief. After Little Chief saw Sam's courage, he swore to help Sam bring the Scorpions to justice. Sam became the town's new sheriff and chose Little Chief as his deputy.

In this game, you play as Sheriff Sam, a young gunslinger who travels the land fighting bad guys and playing mini-games. The main game is about moving horizontally through towns to collect gold by chest punching while killing bad guys before they kill you. There is also an RPG element where you have to visit people in towns in order to proceed like in the very beginning where first you have to acquire a knife and then you can break the chest and get money to buy a key which in turn allows you to enter the sheriff's building. Once you're made a sheriff, you can travel to various towns in search of an outlaw for bounty money. There are also mini-games such as the shooting gallery where you have to shoot at the bad guys' targets while avoiding shooting at the innocent targets of passers-by.
