The Mega-CD or Mega CD1, also known as the Sega CD in North America, is a peripheral device for Sega's Mega Drive video game console. This is a CD-ROM drive for playing games in CD-ROM format, Audio CDs and CD-Gs. It was marketed at the end of 1991 in Japan, in 1992 in the United States and in 1993 in Europe.
