The New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL (LL in Japan) are two Nintendo game consoles succeeding the Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL. During the presentation of a Nintendo Direct in Japan on August 29, 2014, Nintendo unveiled two new models. The main addition is the inclusion of a second small analog stick on the right side of the console and the appearance of ZL and ZR keys, which complement the L and R buttons on the upper edge of the console, the all offering similar functionality to the Circle Pad Pro.
Other additions include a camera tracking system for the upper screen, allowing to improve the 3D display according to the viewing angle adopted by the user, a brightness adjustment according to the lighting of the environment , slightly larger screens, colored buttons based on those of the Super Nintendo controller, memory expansion with support for microSD cards from 128MB to 2GB and microSDHC cards from 4GB to 32GB , an NFC slot allowing the use of amiibo figurines (older models require an external device).
