Conflict: Vietnam is the third game in Pivotal Games' Conflict series, this time going further back in time to the bloody battlefield of Vietnam. The game takes place during the Tet Offensive in 1968.
The player takes on the roles of four soldiers who are not, unlike previous games, elite SAS or Delta Force soldiers. In fact, they are normal American GIs. who are separated from their unit during battle and must fight through enemy territory with hordes of hostile Vietnamese.
The game can be played by giving orders to each member of the team or by directly taking control of one of them. In each mission, there are one or more main objectives and several bonus objectives, such as destroying all tanks in the area or collecting Vietcong documents. For each objective achieved, soldier killed or vehicle destroyed, squad members get experience points. Each of them has different abilities (Sniper, Leader, Heavy Weapons, Medic) which can be upgraded with these points. To defuse one of the many traps, it is necessary to have skills in this capacity.
