Like its predecessor, it is a real-time strategy with a semi-top-down isometric perspective using a 2D sprite graphics engine. The player takes control of either the Allies or the Soviets, as they fight for the fate of the planet. Gameplay features are similar to the previous game, including building a base with defenses, grouping units, harvesting resources, and more. The game features a variety of environments in its missions, adding indoor missions that only use infantry units.
