Castlevania: Lament of Innocence is an action-adventure video game developed by Konami for the PlayStation 2 console. Belonging to the Castlevania series of video games by Konami, it is the first installment in the series for PlayStation 2 and the third to use a 3D game style. It was released in Japan and North America in late 2003 and in Europe and Australia in early 2004. It is the first installment in the series to feature the franchise's modern logo, as well as the first to receive ESRB M rating.
