Burnout is a street racing game all about speed and crashes. Unlike many games that focus on closed-course driving, you can drive through cities with real traffic and city infrastructure. The designers built quarters of the city and surrounding areas and set up racetracks on the streets. As a result, many times certain parts of racetracks intertwine with other parts of other races. Also, instead of encouraging strategic driving and safe driving, Burnout strongly encourages offensive driving. Driving on the wrong side of the road, barely missing passing traffic, drifting and jumping all add up to your burnout meter. Speed boosts and jumps help you get past buses, trucks, and anything else that gets in your way. The more offensive and dangerous your driving is, the more boost you get!
Burnout 2 contains a full campaign and a custom car campaign. While you can unlock regular cars and tracks, later in the campaign you'll unlock more circuits like reverse tracks and one-way sprints. You can unlock more than 20 cars like a Nascar, a 1920s gangster car, a Japanese muscle, and many custom vehicles with custom paint jobs and boosted stats.
