Beyond Good and Evil, sometimes abbreviated BGE, is an action-adventure video game developed and published by Ubisoft in 2003 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and PC (Windows).
The game mixes different game genres (adventure, infiltration, racing) and makes the player evolve in a poetic and dreamlike world victim of an alien invasion. The player embodies Jade, a young reporter photographer, helped by the man-pig Pey'j and the spy Double H in his fight against the Alpha sections and the aliens DomZ alongside the IRIS network.
Imagined and designed by Frenchman Michel Ancel, creator of Rayman, Beyond Good and Evil was well received by critics. His music has also been praised. The game earned two Imagina Games Awards and received multiple Game Developers Choice Award and Interactive Achievement Award nominations. However, it did not have the expected success with the public. Despite this, it should have a second episode in the form of a prequel which will bear the title of Beyond Good and Evil 2.
