Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance is a beat 'em up video game developed by Cavia and published by Capcom, released in 2005 for PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
You start out in an abandoned warehouse in the grimy town of Las Sombras, ready to do a drug deal, and then all hell breaks loose. You've been double-crossed by your current cartel and now you seek revenge. In this beat-em up with light rpg elements, you must choose one of five characters whose names are: Raven, Jason G, Gina, Lola and Aaron. You run through town with two optional allies who fight with other gang members. Some gang members can be recruited if you defeat them one-on-one. You also have a criminality level that allows gang members and the police to identify you. You can lower your crime level by buying and then wearing different outfits. You can also improve your characters' attack, stamina, and technique by gaining combat experience. There are two multiplayer modes in Beatdown: normal VS mode, where you can select up to three characters for your team and then choose player vs. CPU, player vs. player, and CPU vs. CPU; and also Custom VS Mode, where you select up to three characters for your team and load up a party of three characters you recruited from the single-player game.
