Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Burning Earth for Nintendo DS is a 2D bird's-eye action game based on the American animated series Avatar and follows the events of the show's second season. In the game, Aang, Katara, and Sokka travel to the Earth Kingdoms' capital, Ba Sing Se, to meet King Bumi and learn earthbending. The game is very similar to the gameplay of the first game in the series on Nintendo DS
During the game, the player will take control of the different characters including Aang, Katara, Sokka and Toph to fight the enemies. While playing, the player can switch between playable characters. Aang, Katara, and Toph can perform bending attacks while Sokka uses his mace. The player will encounter various enemies, including bosses.
For PlayStation 2, Wii and Xbox 360, a different 3D game was released. The Game Boy Advance also received a different 2D game.
