Acclaim's baseball series made its Game Boy Advance debut with All-Star Baseball 2003. It has fewer modes and features than the console version and is presented in 2D graphics suitable for the platform.

Game modes include Quick Game (random match), Exhibition, All-Star Game, Batting Practice, Home Run Derby, Season (8 different length and mode combinations), and World Series. There is also a two-player mode via a link cable.

The gameplay follows the traditional pattern. Players control the pitch, the stick and the pitch. For pitching and batting, the view is from behind the batter. Hitting involves moving a triangular cursor to aim the bat and pressing a button to swing or bunt. The triangle slider can be disabled for a powerful swing attempt, which is harder to hit but almost guarantees a home run. The caster selects the terrain type from a menu. During terrain, the game switches to an aerial view of the terrain, achieved through a Mode-7 style sprite/background layer engine. The landing spot and the ball's course lines are indicated by a red marker and yellow lines respectively. The camera pans and zooms automatically to focus on the action.

Like the console version, the GBA title has a trading card feature. Cards are earned by winning games in many modes and can be traded with another player via a link cable.
