Alien Trilogy is a first-person shooter game based on the first three Alien movies. You control Lieutenant Ripley in three sections, each based on a movie: the colony complex on LV426 (from Aliens), the prison planet (from Alien³) and the abandoned spaceship (from Alien). Each section consists of approximately 10 missions. In each mission, certain objectives must be completed in order to continue. These include killing a certain number of enemies, finding items, or activating switches.
Enemies include everything the alien lifecycle provides: facehuggers, chestbursters, alien warriors, alien dogs (from Alien³), and alien queens, one of which awaits in each section's final mission. In addition to the aliens, you also have to fight the employees of the company, who have been infected by the aliens and are irrecoverable or who actively want to hinder your mission.
Weapons to use include pistol, shotgun, pulse rifle, flamethrower and smart gun. Ammo, health boosts, and other useful items are scattered throughout the levels. Hidden areas can be discovered using explosives like grenades and seismic charges. An automatic mapping system helps you not get lost, night goggles and shoulder lights (battery operated) let you see in the dark, and motion tracking tells you where your enemies are - but only if they move.
