Star Fox Adventures (Sutā Fokkusu Adobenchā?) is an action-adventure video game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo in 2002 for the GameCube. The game is the third installment in the Star Fox series and the first to use the license as a third-person adventure game.
The plot is set on Dinosaur Planet (named "Sauria" in later games) of the Lylat planetary system, where Fox McCloud is sent by General Pepper to save the planet from falling apart and endangering the Lylat system. After arriving, Fox discovers a mysterious magic staff and uses it to save the planet and come to the aid of the vixen Krystal.
It is the last game to be developed by Rare for Nintendo's video game consoles, the studio having been acquired by Microsoft in September 2002 in order to make it a main development studio for video games for its rival console Xbox.
