Grand Theft Auto V (more commonly abbreviated as GTA V) is an action-adventure video game, developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games in 2013. Part of the video game series Grand Theft Auto series of video games, it is a sequel to the fictional universe introduced in Grand Theft Auto IV, released in 2008. Fifteenth game in the series including additional content and portable episodes, GTA V is the fifth official installment of the saga as well as the second opus of the franchise straddling two console generations, namely the seventh and eighth generation (GTA 2 was released on fifth and sixth generation consoles).
