Great Jeopardy! is based on the popular Jeopardy! Game show. In this digital incarnation, 4 players compete to answer trivial questions reversed in the trademark Jeopardy! mode - i.e. the host provides the answer and a player must provide the questions. As many as 4 human players can participate, with the remaining slots being filled by the computer. The competition is held in quarter-final, semi-final and final modes.
A player will select a question from one of 6 categories. The game gives the answer to the question and players use their controllers to buzz. At this point, a player has 80 seconds to spell the question (and the computer has already provided the preamble to the "What the..." question). If the player gets the question wrong, that player loses money and the remaining players have the opportunity to participate.
