Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (or Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 for the Game Boy Advance version) is a Nintendo platform game released in 1995 on Super Nintendo, then in 2002 on Game Boy Advance. It was re-released on Nintendo Switch in 2019.
Shigeru Miyamoto and his team had to highlight a particular graphic style, facing the evaluation committee of Nintendo who rather expected to see graphics in pre-rendered computer graphics as had used Donkey Kong Country.
In line with the first opus, a second was released on Nintendo DS, namely Yoshi's Island DS, as well as a third called Yoshi's New Island on Nintendo 3DS.
