The player will fight as Redbeard or One Eye through various pirate-themed levels, such as ships and forts, and even some non-pirate themed levels, fighting ninjas, skeletons, and others on a quest to save a princess from an evil wizard. There is also a split-screen mode for two players.
Pirates will use multiple weapons to fight like guns, swords, knives and their bare fists. At each level, players will need to kill at least 15 enemies to advance and fight the level boss. Each of the six levels can be chosen freely from the start, differing only in difficulty (time limit to beat).
Several skull flags are distributed throughout the levels, hiding loot, new weapons, and traps (a skull symbol). There are hidden flags that will appear when the hacker passes by them. At the end of each level, players can exchange their loot for new weapons, each at different prices (the stronger one costs more).
