ROAD RASH (SEGA GENESIS SG)

Road Rash is an aggressive motorcycle racing game where the player assumes the role of a motorcyclist who takes part in a series of illegal races across the United States. Starting at the back of the peloton, the objective is always to finish first on a linear course by overtaking the other bikers. This is achieved by riding great or playing dirty, knocking opponents off their bikes using clubs, pliers, or your bare hands. The other runners retaliate in the same way and there are also dangers. All races are on the regular road with normal traffic (both ways) and the cops, as well as the occasional oil spill and roaming cows.

By winning races you can be promoted to a stronger division and earn money with which you can buy a better bike. Every time you get knocked off your bike or hit something, you'll have to run to your bike and waste valuable time, and your bike will take damage. When the player crashes with nearby cops, it is possible to get arrested and then you have to forfeit the race.

Like the entire Road Rash line, the game has arcade-like gameplay with no intention of being a motorcycle simulation. Although the game has a two-player mode, it is not simultaneous.
