In Hook, based on Steven Spielberg's 1991 film, the player controls Peter Pan who tries to save his children from Captain James Hook. This version differs from the version of the game by Ukiyotei. Although it is also a platformer, the Painting by Numbers title also includes flight levels as well as one-on-one combat scenes.
From a map of Neverland, the next level to play can be chosen via a compass-shaped pointer. Depending on which is tackled first, different paths through the game open up, but all levels must be completed before Hook can be confronted on his pirate ship. Locations include caves, forests, lagoons, cities, and frozen landscapes.
