Dropship is an action game set in the year 2050. Terrorist attacks have increased dramatically, that's why the great nations of the world have decided to form the UPF, "United Peace Force", to replace the UN and NATO. It is an anti-terrorist army, operating all over the world.
But there is another group operating globally: a massively militarized drug syndicate. When an attack on a peace convoy in Colombia is linked to this cartel, the UPF opens an investigation. A central base and drug cartel training camp is believed to be located somewhere in Libya. The UPF opens a base in this country and begins to search for the criminals.
The player is a newly recruited soldier and pilot of the UPF. During the campaign, which lasts 20 fairly long missions, he can travel and fight on foot, in tanks and various other ground vehicles, but most of the time he will pilot a dropship, either attack, defender or transport class. . Dropships can hover and fly and carry a large amount of weapons and cargo.
