Donald Duck Advance is the GBA version of Goin' Quackers, released on several other systems as a 3D platformer. Like the GBC version, the GBA version is traditional 2D side scrolling.
The scenario is the same as in the other versions: Merlock has kidnapped Daisy Duck and Donald tries to rescue her using Gyro Gearloose's teleporter. Donald must traverse four environments, each consisting of shorter levels: Duckie Mountain, Duckburg, Magica De Spell's mansion, and Merlock's Temple. The goal in most levels is to collect three energy spheres, which will open the level's exit. To reach them, Donald must eliminate or evade numerous enemies, jump over dangerous gaps and brave other dangers. To do this, he can attack, jump over enemies and even do a double jump. He can also start running, a skill used to jump further or to survive in one of the chase levels. A level in each of the four worlds differs from the norm in that Donald must either run away from an enemy or try to grab something. Each level has several recoil points to restart after losing a life. Levels include lots of stars that Donald can collect. Collecting 100 rewards per life and collecting all stars on all levels unlocks a secret bonus. Game progress is stored via passwords.
